Real Housewives of NY- ep 5- "Make new friends and throw the old ones off the bridge"

This episode starts with Bethanny and Ramona taking a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge. Alex and Simon live in Brooklyn and they'll be on the other side waiting for the two of them. Bethanny recounts the conversation that she had with Jill. Ramona goes right in and tells Bethanny that she thinks that she's leaked things to the press, that she's self-serving and that she has no friends and that she has Jason right now but she'll probably mess that up too.

Now we all know that Ramona is crazy but really coming out of KNOWHERE'S VILLE and masking those words under the guise of "I'm just trying to help you" is absolutely ridiculous. Bethanny really has no immediate comeback other then her jaw hitting the bridge with a huge thump. Bethanny is usually very quick and witty but even the icyiest ice queen would be affected by Ramona's crazy talk. Bethanny aks Ramona why they're even doing this if she feels this way about her. Ramona in true Ramona form doesn't take responsibility for her hurtful words. Then she gives her a backhanded apology, probably one of the most unkind apologies I've ever heard. Bethanny finally gets back to her story about Jill, and through tears, explains to Ramona what happened with the phone call and  Jill having her on speakphone with an audience. Ramona insists that Jill and Bethanny have to meet face to face. Bethanny is having some other personal issues- her father who she is estranged from is very ill-  but she doesn't want to share that with Ramona. Bethanny and Ramona finally make it over the bridge and they are both relived to see Alex and Simon. Bethanny called the behavior "The Ramona-coaster" lol! I agree.

Luann goes to her friends high end thrift shop to drop off some clothes. This shop donates clothing to the homeless. Luann has a idea for a fundraiser and the woman who works in the shop agrees that a fundraiser is a great idea and Luann could be introduced as "the style ambassador". Countless immediately says- "oh no, it's not about me" which translates to "actually it's all about me". Of course she brings up her bestie, Jill and how she'll have so many great things to donate. She'a so far up Jill's butt - it's annoying!

Luann stays overnight at Jill's place and they wear pajamas and get in bed together to discuss the fundraiser. They are just way too fake and buddy, buddy. Jill shows Luann her diamond Saks card that she just got. Jill then goes in on the gossip and that Ramona told her that Bethanny and Kelly made up. Of course Jill, being a 15 year old girl, is upset because she wants everybody to not be friends with Bethanny since she has issues with her. Jill tells Luann how she sent Kelly an e-mail last week basically saying that if you're friends with Bethanny then I can't be friends with you. She tells Luann that she wonders if Kelly is being fake and phony. Jill you really need to get a life. She's so bored all she can do is talk to other people about her and Bethanny. How about talking to Bethanny!

Bethanny, Ramona and Alex meet to pick the models for Brooklyn fashion week. Bethanny arrives first with her luggage and Alex asks her what's going on. Bethanny breaksdown when she tells the story of her dad who is dying and Alex is extremely sincere in wanting to be there for Bethanny. Alex and Bethanny get each other and are able to talk without judgement which they both need. Kelly comes in with her usually crazy outfit and recounts her days of being a model and how hard it is- get out of here with that - whateve. Ramona comes in with the designer, Louis Diran, and the judging begins. Before Bethanny leaves to catch her flight to LA, Ramon tells her that Jill's coming over to her house and she aks Bethanny to come over so that they can talk in person.

Jill goes to Alex's house to be fake and phony since Alex confronted her about talking about her kids. Alex recognizes Jill's up and down behavior. Jill claims that she's happy that they talked about everything. Alex tells Jill about the Brooklyn fashion week show and Alex says that she and Kelly are walking. Jill asks if Bethanny is coming to the event and Alex tells her basically that Bethanny can really use a friend right now. Jill says that Bethanny is too driven and is so different that she doesn't want to be her friend anymore. Alex doesn't buy Jills argument. I'm sure Jill is going to go running back to "Countless" to talk about this- ugghhh.

Jill and Luann go to Ramona's house so that she can give Luann her old clothes for the charity event. Bethanny comes over- straight off the heels of her trip to LA to see her father- the father who by the way wouldn't see her. Ramona told Bethanny about the meeting but didn't tell Jill. Luann gasps when she sees Bethanny and aks Bethanny if she's there to talk to her. No Luann- it's not the Luann show and the world doesn't revolve around you. Jill comes out of Ramona's room, throws a tantrum and refuses to talk to Bethanny. Bethanny is trying to be diplomatic but Jill is being so nasty. Jill finally agrees to give Bethanny 5 mins and they both come out with feelings that have been pent up for a long time

Luann and Ramona are around the corner eavesdropping and listening to the entire converstation. Jill says she doesn't want to be friends with Bethanny because now she has to take care of her friend "Countless" that needs her. Jill says that she can't have the toxicity in her life and Luann runs into the room to rescue the damsel in distress and tells Jill that this is enough. Luann mind your business!

Bethanny leaves and then the three witches proceed to talk about her behind her back. Jill and Luann then go in on Ramona about Jill being ambushed. Meanwhile Jill did the same thing to Bethanny and Kelly last year. Jill then fakes crying and falls into the arms of gigantic, manish Luann. Ramona doesn't get Jill's behavior. I get it! Jill is a jealous hater who doesn't deserve Bethanny's friendship.

Bethanny you tried now move on.

Will the madness ever end with these women? Was Ramona wrong in ambushing Jill? Is the friendship really over?

Until next week...
