Tori and Dean are back for a second season of adventure. The season premiere starts with "T" and Dean trying to find the balance of marriage, kids, work and all that's involved with "real life" or not so real life.
Patsy, there former nanny and Tori's 2nd mom, went back to her family in Georgia last season because Stella turned 1 year old and that was the plan in the beginning. She just had gastric bypass surgery and because Tori hates to fly they decide to rent an RV and take a family road trip to Atlanta, Ga. And of course Tori's besties/Guncles- Bill and Scout and Mehran are going to join the McDermont family. Mehran makes the smart decision to fly out and meet the gang.
The next day they pack about 50 bags and get ready to hit the road- Patsy or bust. Dean is driving the entire way. On the way they discuss Bill and Scout's pending adoption of a baby and they are really excited.
In Amboy, CA they stop at "The Shoe Tree" which is a tree that has tons of people's shoes on it. They decide to check into a motel instead of camping because they're an hour off schedule. The Guncles are happy that the camping idea went south. Tori is a motel virgin and is quite skeeved by the room and when she glances up at the ceiling she and Dean see what looks like blood.
The next morning the goal is Albuqurque NM but they make a pit-stop in Winslow AZ first. They visit Stewards Petrified Wood Shop. Tori and Gazelle, the shop owner, have a really comical conversation about Ostrich's and orgys. Gazelle has ostriches in the back of the store and they feed them and take pics.
They make it to New Mexico and figure that they are 4 hours behind and so they try to come up with a game plan to make up for lost time. They take a shopping detour to pic up moccassins and Tori and the Guncles start planning a major makeover of Patsy's place once they arrive.
The next stop is the "Cadillac Cemetery" in Amarillo, TX. Then they go to a restaurant called "The Big Texan" home of the 72 ounce steak. They all take the challenge of eating the 72 ounce steak in 1 hr. The steak wins again and nobody finishes. Despite eating almost an entire cow they push on to Dallas, Texas to try to maintain some sort of schedule. Tori really craves family time but they have to focus on getting to Patsy's on time so they can do the planned makeover. They meet "Cousin Sam" and he gives the family a tour of Aaron Spelling's life growing up. Aaron Spelling came from meager beginnings and worked very hard. She misses her dad a lot and reminices about the stories that he used to tell her. They go to the cemetery where many of the Spelling family members are buried. After spending time in Dallas she realizes how much she wants Liam and Stella to be close and cherish family memories.
The road trip with the McDermotts continues next week. Stay tuned.
